ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Tottenham are bracing themselves for interest in the right-back. Spanish outlet Sport claim that Bayern Munich will be in for the 25-year-old this summer, while Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr side are also set to go again for the Brazilian after missing out in January.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Bayern Munich's interest in Royal comes as the German side brace for the expected departure of Joshua Kimmich this summer and Sport claim that Spurs have placed a €29 million (£24m/$31.6m) price tag on the former Barcelona defender.

DID YOU KNOW?
Royal was reportedly the subject of a failed bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in the January transfer window. Spurs' injury issues this season have meant that Royal has been required to feature across Ange Postecoglou's back-line, although he has largely had to settle for a place on the bench in recent weeks.

WHAT NEXT?
Tottenham face the prospect of a busy summer window as Postecoglou knows he will need to strengthen his squad with the added burden of European football to come. While Royal has provided useful depth and versatility this year, Spurs would likely welcome to opportunity to bank a sizeable fee for the defender which would help with their summer spending plans. For Royal, a move to Bayern would see him reunited with former Spurs teammates Eric Dier and Harry Kane.
