The 32 year-old scored the Reds’ first goal with a sweetly struck ball from the edge of the box, before moving to left back where he was both more creative and more defensively solid than Alberto Moreno.
Milner made three key passes, whipped in nine crosses and best of all his move back to left-back just calmed everything down when Moreno looked to be losing his way.
